Scope of the Problem
You receive an error message “Error 46” anywhere in Newton by Agency Systems.
Resolution
The most common reason for an Error 46 is that a backup program is still running at the time the Pervasive Database is trying to access the file. Many backup programs will “lock” files during backup to make sure that they can get a clean copy. To clear this error take the following steps.
- Stop your backup software from running.
- Get everyone out of Newton by Agency Systems.
- Reboot the server to clear the file locks.
- Open Agency Systems on one workstation to validate that the error is clear.
- Contact your IT Professional to review your backup settings.
