Why am I receiving outgoing My Insurance Dashboard (MID) client emails?
- I received about 6 emails today from My Insurance Dashboard (MID) that look like they should have gone to the insured. Can you tell me why?
- Answer
My Insurance Dashboard (MID) uses a "Blind Carbon Copy" or BCC on all outbound emails. This gives you a copy of what was sent to your customer as well for verification, and so that you can resend the email later if the customer loses their copy.
We recommend attaching the email to the relevant policy.
How do I troubleshoot customer access to certificates through MID?
- My customer states they are not able to access My Insurance Dashboard to print their certificates. What do I do?
- Answer
When your client calls in stating they aren’t able to access MID or their certificates, it will help to know exactly what they mean by “not being able to access”. Listed below are some ways to find out this information and steps to follow.
Questions to ask client:
- Are you able to log into MID?
- If not, go to Unable to log into MID.
- Are you able to see your policies in effect?
- If not, go to Unable to see policy(ies) in effect.
- If you can see your policies in effect, click on the Certificates tab. Does a certificate load?
- If not, go to Unable to access certificate.
Unable to log into MID
Step 1: Verify the client is using the correct User Name
- As the agency, log into MID website
- Find the client’s account and select Login as Client
- Go to the Settings tab and verify the User Name
- Tip: Clients may attempt to use their email address to log into MID, which is incorrect.
Step 2: Verify the client is using the correct Password
Sometimes users will have their passwords auto-fill, so you may want to have them delete whatever has auto-filled for the password and actually type in what they believe the password is.
If they are still unable to log in using what they believe to be the correct password, reset their password.
- Log into MID website as the agency.
- Find the client’s account and select Reset and Notify
Step 3: If the client still isn’t able to log into MID, try logging in using their User Name and Password.
- If you are able to log in with their credentials, the client is still either entering an incorrect User Name and/or Password.
- If you are not able to log in with their credentials, contact Support.
Unable to see policies in effect
In Newton, go to the client’s dashboard and verify all policies re showing under the Policies section.
- If all policies are not listed, renew each expired policy using Policy Express.
- After renewing each policy, you will need to open the certificate and re-select ALL policy numbers so that the form gets updated with the renewal term policy sequence. Save the changes and republish the certificate.
- If any policy saved the certificate is expired and no renewal will be made (business lost), remove the policy and coverage information from the certificate since you no longer have that line. Save the changes and republish the certificate.
Unable to access certificate
In Newton, go to client’s dashboard. Verify that in the profile section (top area with client information), you see either Enrolled in MID or Not Enrolled. (If the client profile shows neither Enrolled option, contact Support.)
Client Profile shows Not Enrolled
Enroll the client in My Insurance Dashboard (MID).
- After the enrollment, have the client log out of and back into MID to see if their certificate is available under the Certificates tab.
Client Profile shows Enrolled
- As the agency, log into MID website
- Find the client’s account and select Login as Client
- Go to the Certificates tab. Does the certificate display for you?
- If certificate does display for you, it should do the same for the client.
- If certificate doesn’t display for you, contact Support.
