The steps below outline the process of cancelling a policy and optionally creating the ACORD 35 - Cancellation Request/Policy Release.

Cancel A Policy

  1. Load a client on one of the client tabs.
  2. Select the (+) next to Policies. (To expand the band by default, see: Preferences)
  3. Left-Click the desired policy number to open Policy Express.
  4. Select Policy Tasks -> Cancel Policy .
  5. Select Transaction -> Cancellation.
  6. Select the Cancel Date.
    • This will create a policy sequence effective and expiration date of the cancellation.
    • It will also change the policy term expiration date to the date of the cancellation.
  7. Optionally select Create Acord 35.
  8. Optionally enter a short description in the Transaction Details field.
  9. Enter any activity details in the Policy Log field.
  10. Optionally select Create Diary and enter a Diary Description to create a suspense item on your Dashboard Tab.
  11. Select OK.
  12. If the ACORD 35 form was created, it will automatically open and allow for changes. After the changes are complete select Save and close the form.
  13. Create and Process Return Premium Invoice Due to Cancellation or Endorsement.

The updated policy will be visible within the Policies band on the Client Tab. Cancelled policies are displayed in red and move to the expired policies section the day after the cancellation date.
